Julius Agenmonmen Foundation Launches: Bringing Hope to the Underserved and Underprivileged

Access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right that every individual deserves regardless of their socio-economic background. This is however not the reality for many underserved and underprivileged communities in Nigeria. The Julius Agenmonmen Foundation was established to provide accessible preventive interventions to bring hope to those who have little or no access to proper healthcare in society.

At the formal launch of the foundation at the St. Camillus Hospital, Uromi in  Edo State, recently, the founder, Julius Agenmonmen gave the reasons behind the set up of the foundation.  According to him, it is in appreciation of God’s mercies and blessings towards him and his family. He recalled that in 2016, he was diagnosed with a macular hole in his right eye. The access to right diagnosis and God’s provision to access the right treatment saved his eye. It is therefore his wish that many in his community of birth and indeed all over the nation and beyond will not suffer from access to early diagnosis and treatment of common health issues.

A number of equipment were donated during the launch making the hospital to have the best-equipped eye center in the local government. The equipments include the following amongst others:

  • Illuminated LED VA chart
  • SLITLAMP/ Goldman applanation Tonometer
  • Examination chair or combi unit
  • Autoref keratometer
  • Wireless binocular indirect ophthalmoscope
  • Ophthalmoscope and retinoscope
  • Photopter amongst many others

Julius Agenmonmen, the foundation’s founder, was born at this hospital 60 years ago. This is therefore a key moment in the history of the Julius Agenmonmen Foundation. This donation serves as a prelude to what is to come from the Julius Agenmonmen Foundation and demonstrates the foundation’s dedication to providing access to healthcare to underprivileged persons & communities.

A partner and co-founder of the Julius Agenmonmen Foundation, Dr. Uche Agenmonmen, led a tour of the hospital’s facilities while describing the functions and uses of each piece of equipment donated to the hospital. She underlined the value of proper eye care and the necessity of ensuring that everyone has access to it. Dr. Uche is dedicated to making sure that everyone has access to healthcare because she recognizes the crucial role that it plays in people’s lives.

The foundation’s founder, Julius Agenmonmen, said that “it is a privilege to give back to the community and help people live independent lives throughout their lifetime. The JAF Foundation is dedicated to becoming involved in various facets of healthcare to help people feel they have value and a purpose. The ultimate objective of the foundation is to improve their lives in whatever way we can.

In conclusion,  the Julius Agenmonmen Foundation is dedicated to giving marginalized areas access to healthcare. The foundation’s gift of medical supplies to St Camillus Hospital in Uromi is evidence of its dedication to improving the lives of those it assists. To provide its customers with a sense of optimism and improve their lives, the foundation will continue to make interventions in several healthcare fields. Julius Agenmonmen Foundation is a ray of hope for underserved and poor communities, and it will keep working to make sure that everyone has access to high-quality healthcare.
